Casts From the Past is a recurring retrospective of select Palladio GFRG projects.

Another 3 casts united with yesterday’s and you get a good inkling of what somebody’s New Jersey ceiling will eventually look like.

Adding casts of enrichments, one-by-one, till an entire length of cornice is filled.

New Jersey is looking up! Or they should, once this new ceiling system is installed.

This shallow relief ceiling system is an excellent example of how to use simple cast pieces over and over to create a larger, more complicated work.

Unlike human faces, the lines and details of aging plaster pieces fade over time. This medallion gets a reverse face-lift as we carve details back into it.
