Casts From the Past XXX

Casts From the Past is a recurring retrospective of select Palladio GFRG projects.

This pilastered capital receives finishing touches before being molded, cast, and shipped to its new home in South Dakota.

Legions of art deco mouldings dry on the racks in preparation for shipping.

Though our mouldings are only produced by hand, we use both historic and modern methods in the planning and designing. That includes 3D modeling.

After gaining client approval of our in-house 3D digital modeling, we begin reconstruction with salvaged pieces from the original bracket.

This bracket’s resurrection is nearly complete. From 3D digital restoration based on moldering fragments to molded reconstruction.  Next: installation!
