Casts From the Pasts XIV

Casts From the Past is a recurring retrospective of select Palladio GFRG projects.

Even though all Palladio products are hand-crafted, that doesn’t limit us from designing specimens with a modern flair. Pictured are some of our Wöhl tiles, arranged in patterns that manipulate light and shadow as surely as our classic elements.

Though it may be hard to see at a single glance, this ceiling was paneled with casts of a single shape. The second image reveals how the pieces meet tail to tail, and how the pairs puzzle up together.

Simple geometric shapes can create a complex design when given a large enough space – like this ceiling – to work amongst one another.

Repetition can have a spectacular impact, especially when complexity contains its own contrast.
