Casts From the Past X

Casts From the Past is a recurring retrospective of select Palladio GFRG projects.

Here we’ve started constructing a one-time plaster mold for a “reredos”. The reredos is a decorative screen that acts as a backdrop to an altar.

For the reno of a 34th St. lobby, we’ve recreated a single coffer of the original ceiling. Conjoining 6 of them into a single larger mold means less casting and a more efficient installation.
