Casts From the Past XXVI

Casts From the Past is a recurring retrospective of select Palladio GFRG projects.

Sometimes bigger is better!

This mold to one of our latest projects is almost ready to be removed and cast.  Its profile spans more than 8 feet, demonstrating the size of casts that can be achieved.

This is for those who assume plaster is all about being "flat" and "brittle". 😊

These liquid-like panels will not only make our client's walls full of light, shadow, and contour, their glass-fiber reinforced gypsum (aka "boring" plaster) is a lighter and more durable derivative of the classic décor material.

Our big puzzle of plaster is nearly complete! 😊

With this frieze pattern for Cartier assembled and approved, we’ll mould it and cast enough copies for the complete 10’ by 24’ piece. Can you see how they’ll fit together? Installation will be a lot safer and easier thanks to the GFRG’s lighter weight.

What style of capital is this? 👩‍🎓

This highly detailed piece is a Corinthian capital. These capitals can be identified by their diminished volutes and extravagant amounts of acanthus leaves. Palladio GFRG capitals are renowned for their sculptural beauty as well as their historical accuracy. This one will soon be adorning our client's abode in Montreal.

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
